Imphal, 31 March 2016: Outer Manipur MP Thangso Baite today stressed that the hills are the life line of the state and it is about time the different outfits and organisations in the hills realised that frequent bandhs and blockades affect the progress in the hill areas. Imphal, 30 March 2016 : Congress president Sonia Gandhi today appointed T.N. Haokip as the President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, MPCC. TN Haokip will replace Gaikhangam who is also the Deputy Chief Minister. The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting of All India Congress Committee. TN Haokip who represents Saikot assembly constituency in Churachandpur district was the Speaker of the 8th Manipur State Assembly.

Imphal, 22 March 2016 : In connection with the 2017 general election a discussion was held on Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign at Old Secretariat, Babupara. Chief Secretary Oinam Nabakishore also the Chief Election Commissioner of the state along with the representatives of various local clubs participated in the discussion.
