Imphal, 18 May 2016 : Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, much to the disappointment of the people of Manipur, today stated that the team of all political party is awaiting for an appointment with the Indian Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to discuss the 3 Bills passed by the state assembly to protect the indigenous people of Manipur. Imphal, 17 May 2016 ( Evening News ) : Till the last day for filing of nomination for Imphal Municipal Corporation election, 89 candidates of councillors and 149 candidates of members have filed their nominations. Of the 27 wards, 20 Wards are in Imphal West and 7 wards are in Imphal east. Imphal, 14 May 2016 : BJP Manipur Pradesh today released the name of the candidates who will contest the Imphal Municipal Corporation elections on June 2. State Election Committee, BJP, Manipur Pradesh announced the names of 24 candidates out of 27 wards at the party office at Nityaipat Chuthek. Imphal, 09 May 2016 : Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today convened an all political party meeting at CM Secretariat at 9 this morning. The meeting resolved to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pressurised to give assent to the 3 bills passed by the state assembly on August 31 last year. A delegation from Manipur will leave for New Delhi within 16th of this month to meet the central leader.

Imphal, 08 May 2016 : Members of joint committee on inner line permit system, JCILPS Women's Wing today attempted to storm the office of the BJP Manipur Pradesh at Nityaipat Chuthek. However the protestors were stopped at the gate of the BJP office by police personnel who were already posted at the site since morning. The women protestors refused to leave the place saying that they will meet the leaders of the BJP.
