Imphal, 18 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam today revealed that the govt is working on an alternative bill that does not have procedural and legal loopholes. Imphal, 14 Hune 2016 : BJP Manipur Pradesh has expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s decision to elect the Mayor of Imphal city in a period of two days. Speaking to media persons at its office BJP MLA Th. Biswajit said a congress candidate will become mayor as the party is in majority. He said it takes about 21 days to appoint the councillors and then to elect the mayor. But the government is planning to finish the process in only 2 days. He warned that it will do no good to elect the mayor in hurry.

Imphal, 04 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Re-polling was held at polling station number 14/8 The Welfare Club, Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leirak in Yaiskul assembly constituency for the Imphal Municipal Corporation amid tight security arrangements. The re-polling on June 2 at the 14/8 was nullified after complaints were lodged against proxy voting and the election authority ordered a re-poll at the polling station.
