Imphal, 18 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam today revealed that the govt is working on an alternative bill that does not have procedural and legal loopholes. Speaking to media persons after offering tribute to the 18 martyrs 18 at their memorial at Kekrupat, the deputy home minister said an appraisal has been sent to the Union Home Ministry on the decision to pass a new bill as the previous bill was withheld by the President. Gaikhangam maintained that it is the responsibility of every citizen of the state to protect the integrity of the state whenever the state faces threats to its integrity. However, when queried about the people’s demand to remove the wanted tag on former JCILPS Convenor, Khomdram Ratan, Gaikhangam tactfully replied that it is legal procedure and will take it own course.
