Imphal, 5 April 2016 : After missing the deadline for supplying electricity to Myanmar, work is in full swing now. Today a 5 Mega watt transformer was installed to provide electricity to myanmar. The 33/11 KB sub-station in Moreh will have two transformer, one to provide power to morel and another one to Myanmar. Electricity lines is also laid at electric posts near the Indo-Myanmar iron bridge. The electric lines have also been connected to the transformer located inside Myanmar Immigration Office Complex. Although it is not clear when India will supply electricity to Myanmar. The March 25 deadline was missed after Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Electric Power Committee, Tamu of Myanmar on March 5 this year regarding the power supply.
