IMPHAL: An IED and mortar shells were discovered yesterday in the heart of Imphal where a large number of police personnel remain vigil round the clock. Sources said the IED and mortar shells were found on the road at Nityaipat Chuthek under City police station this morning around 7. A team of Manipur police bomb squad safely removed them. Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh president Th Chaoba strongly reacted against the discovery of a bomb in the heart of Imphal city saying that the law and order system of the state is a total failure. Speaking to media at its head office, Th Chaoba said the state is being run by a government who cannot handle law and order or use funds properly.  He also said he would urge the centre to impose president rule in the state as the security and the intelligence was unable to do anything even when the bomb was planted in front of the BJP office, which is just opposite the Governor Bunglow.

IMPHAL: BJP Manipur Pradesh has demanded judicial inquiry into Lilong incident that led to the death of a minor boy. Speaking to media persons at the party’s Head Office in Nityaipat Chuthek, the party's president Th Chaoba said Manipur government has lost its moral right to rule the state.He further said he is disappointed at the state government's silence when bandhs are called and pretension to take action only when the issue gets bigger. Stating that the Lilong issue cannot be taken lightly, he demanded the government to institute a judicial inquiry into the incident to bring justice to the victim. Earlier a team of BJP workers led by Irom Mangiton and Oinam Malesh, President of BJP Yuva Morcha, visited Lilong to take stock of the situation.  The team not only met the injured victims at Public Hospital but also gave financial assistance to them. Later, the team met family members of deceased minor boy, Iliyaz Khan at their house at Lilong Chingkham Maning.  President of BJP Yuva Morcha Oinam Malesh said he will personally report the incident to union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Kiren Rijiju in New Delhi. He assured the family that the truth will be found out and the guilty punished.

BJP Manipur Pradesh is going to start a three-month long protest campaign against the state government. The protest campaign will address the issues faced by the people of the state. The protest campaign also aims to rectify the corrupt practises in politics in the state. It was announced at a press meet held at the residence of the BJP Yuva Morcha President O Malesh. BJP Manipur Pradesh President Th Chaoba said the three-month long protest campaign will begin from this month. He said the protest campaign will address various issues like distribution of essential commodities through Public Distribution System (PDS), Imphal-Jiribam Road construction and construction of Sports University on due time. After the completion of the first three-month of the protest campaign, the agitation would continue in various phases. The details of the protest campaign will be in public domain soon. Criticising the policies and programmes undertaken by State government, Th Chaoba said, Bhartiya Janata Party is working towards bringing good governance in the next term in the state. He added, 2014 was the glory year of the BJP in various states however its success was hindered in Manipur.  Chaoba further said, with the steep rise of its party members, the party has more than 3 lakh members in the state. With no MLAs and MP’s being elected from the state, the BJP would act as a role of opposition party and the party would expose the flaws of the policies and programmes by the government.

BJP demanded the state government to produce a white paper on the fund meant for the renovation of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex within five days. Speaking at a press meet at its office at Nityaipat Chuthek, BJP Manipur Pradesh President,Th Chaoba, expressed the apprehension that the state govt has misappropriated Rs 100 crore released under 13th Finance Commission for renovation of Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. He said renovation work for the Complex was entrusted with Manipur Development Society instead of giving it to the experts. He asked the govt to publish a white paper and demanded a CBI enquiry into the work.  Th Chaoba also demanded that Manipur government should make an attempt to start classes for the session 2014-15 at the SAI Centres before the construction of the Sports University begins. Opining that the pace at which the govt is working on ILP system in Manipur is rather slow Chaoba said govt should try to present a bill in the winter session of the state assembly.
