Imphal, 29 August 2016 ( Evening News ): Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam today reiterated that a bill acceptable by both the hills and the valley people will be introduced in the upcoming Monsoon session of Manipur Legislative Assembly. Speaking on the 85th Death Anniversary of freedom fighter Haipou Jadonang at Haipou Jadonang Park at Keishampat, deputy chief minister Gaikhangam said to avoid withholding the bill by President as happened before, a consensus bill is needed to be prepared after thorough discussion. The state govt has the same desire to enact a law to protect the interest of the indigenous people of the state. Terming the non-performance of the last rites of the 9 persons died in the uprising against the 3 bills passed by the assembly in Churachandpur last year as unfortunate, Gaikhangam appealed to extend help in the introduction of a new bill. Maintaining the cancellation of Manipur Police Constable 2013 DPC was due to some discrepancies in the process, Gaikhangam also appealed to all concerned not to call any bandh or blockade and take part in the new recruitment. People paid tribute at the statue of the freedom fighter during the 85th Death Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang organised by Haipou Jadonang Statue & Park Development Committee Manipur.
