Imphal, 22 April 2017 ( Evening News ) : Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Manipur P. N. Prasad has denied that there was no incident of killing Royal Bengal Tiger in Manipur. Speaking exclusively to Impact News today, P. N. Prasad said the photographs of killing of Royal Bengal Tiger which were uploaded in social media were the photographs of killing a tiger in Nagaland in 2005 and 2015. He said the State Forest Department is trying to find out the authenticity of the photographs which which were shot at three different locations. As per the reports given by National Tiger Conservation Authority, NTCA there was a report of presence of Royal Bengal Tiger in Tamenglong District. Till now the NTCA, Central Crime Controls Bureau along with the State Forest Department are on the looking of the foot prints of tiger in Tamenglong District using CCTVs and also by using Plaster of Paris. There are reports of tigers appearing in Senapati areas as well. These animals keep wandering and can be seen not only in Assam and Nagaland, but also in dense areas of Manipur. PN Prasad said the issue will be discussed at a meeting to be organised by National Tiger Conservation Authority on May 2 in Guwahati.
