Imphal, 05 September 2016 ( Evening News ) : Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today stated that even if the new draft bill for the protection of indigenous could not be tabled in the ongoing session of the Assembly, the govt is prepared to table the bill by adjourning the current Assembly session sine die. Replying to queries raised by various opposition MLAs during the zero hour of the last day of the 14th Session of the 10th Manipur State Assembly, Chief Minister said the necessity to put the draft Bill submitted by JCILPS in public domain and discuss it and the apprehension of similar fate of the new draft Bill as the previous Bill if passed in hush-hush have delayed in introducing the bill in the current session. Chief Minister once again reiterated that the govt is firmed in passing a bill acceptable to all the stakeholders. After the Question Hour, Opposition MLA, Kh Joykishan raised if the imposition of Section 144 of CrPC around the Assembly and the announcement of holiday for all schools and colleges on Teachers’ Day today would tantamount to insulting the first president of India Dr S Radhakrishnan. Joykishan also appealed to discuss the matter in the assembly. Opposition MLA I Ibohalbi questioned what the govt have done in the death of a student from Toupokpi who allegedly died due to the harassment by school authority. I Ibohalbi also questioned if the govt have prepared any policy for private schools. Andro MLA Th Shyamkumar appealed the authority concerned to check how many students are there in a school before any teacher is transferred and requested not to discharge the old teacher before the new teacher joins the school.
