Imphal, 19 May 2016 ( Evening News) : Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System, JCILPS has called for 38 hour Manipur bandh from 4 tomorrow morning to press the demand for ILP in the state. The bandh begins at 4 am of May 20 and ends at 6 pm of May 21. JCILPS Convenor Khomdram Ratan today reiterated that the lack of interest shown by the govt towards the protection of indigenous people has necessitated the bandh. Speaking to media at the JCILPS office at Sega Road Khomdram Ratan said the abolition of entry and exit pass by the centre and the failure to give assent to the 3 bills passed by Manipur Legislative Assembly indicate that the centre is not interested in protecting the indigenous people of Manipur. He maintained that the BJP govt at the Centre and Congress govt in the State are more interested in election than in protection of the indigenous communities. Ratan appealed to all to support the ILP movement.
