The drive aimed to vaccinate around 500 locals. The MLA appealed to all the eligible beneficiaries to get vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible to prevent the possible third wave of coronavirus pandemic in the state. He also reminded that the Union Health Ministry has already approved covid vaccination of pregnant and lactating women as safe.

It maybe mentioned that Manipur Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren has recently announced to reward Rs.20 lakhs to the first fully vaccionated Assembly Constituency in the state. Covid vaccination has been intensified since then across the state and vaccination rate is also rising. As of July 2nd, a total of 7 lakh, 5 thousand, 693 people have received COVID-19 Vaccine in Manipur, out of which 85 Thousand 275 people have received the second dose.
