Imphal, 02 July 2016 : Convenor of State Election Management Committee, BJP Manipur Pradesh, Thounaojam Chaoba warned of urging the centre to impose President Rule in the state. Speaking to media at BJP Head Office at Nityaipat Chuthek, Th Chaoba said as per the Article 164 of Indian Constitution and the population of Manipur, the state should have 15% maximum or 12% minimum of the elected MLAs in the Council of Ministers. However, Manipur govt has 12 Ministers and 5 parliamentary Secretaries which is equivalent to Ministers. Th Chaoba questioned whether a Bill passed by the State Assembly is above the Indian Constitution and stated that the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister will be urged to dissolve the state assembly and impose President Rule in the state.
