Imphal, August 2: The first round of counselling for admission to MBBS and other undergraduate medical courses under the All India Quota (AIQ) will begin on August 4, while the academic session for the 2026–27 batch is scheduled to commence on September 8. According to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) information bulletin, counselling for deemed and central universities will be conducted from August 4 to August 17, with the last date for candidates to join allotted colleges fixed as August 22. The registration process will be held from August 5 to August 12, while choice filling and locking will take place from August 6 to August 13. The seat allotment result for the first round will be announced on August 17. For state quota seats, the first round of counselling is scheduled from August 13 to August 22, and candidates must complete admission formalities by August 28. The second round of counselling for deemed and central universities will be conducted from August 24 to September 2, followed by the third round from September 10 to September 18. A stray vacancy round has been scheduled from September 28 to October 3, with the final deadline for joining allotted institutions set for October 10. The MCC has directed all participating institutions and state counselling authorities to treat Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted holidays as working days to ensure that the counselling process is completed within the prescribed timeline.
