IMPHAl, 20 March 2016  : A person was injured in grenade explosion at Kanchi Indane Gas Service and rushed to RIMS Hospital. The injured person has been identified as Thokchom Ranjit, 52 of Kwakeithel Thokchom Leikai who serves as watchman at Kanchi Indane Gas Service, Kwakeithel Tiddim Ground. He was injured in the left leg and is out of danger. Some unidentified miscreants hurled the grenade at the compound of Kanchi Indane Gas Service. The lever of the was recovered from the compound while the pin was recovered from outside the gate. A team of Imphal West Police led by SP rushed at the blast site.

Police Constables and 519 riflemen when the controversies regarding the recruitment of police constables are yet to be settled. Speaking to media at BJP headoffice at Nityaipat Chuthek, President of BJYM Manipur Pradesh Oinam Malesh alleged that the decision of the cabinet will create problem for the people. He said the govt should clarify its decision to recruit constables when the recruitment of constables held 2/3 years back still remained a controversy. He alleged that instead of making efforts to improve the agricultural products of the state the govt has decided to recruit constables when the state is facing financial crunch. Mahesh said people are opposing the govt's decision to build Sports University at Yaithibi Loukol. He also said BJYM had urged the govt to build the University at another site. BJYM Manipur Pradesh will support the Sports University Demand Committee.

IMPHAL, 20 March 2016 :  Normal life in Moreh town on Indo-Myanmar border  has been badly affected by the 24 hour bandh called by Kuki Students Organisation. The KSO has called for the bandh against the bomb explosion at the office of Hill Tribal Council, Moreh last night around 8. All kinds of vehicles remained off the Imphal and Moreh road. Markets, business establishments, banks and govt offices also remained closed.  KSO stated that although no one was hurt in the explosion, the incident has created panic among the students who are appearing in the HSLC and HSSLC examinations.

Meanwhile, a bomb was discovered next to the fence wall of Moreh Police Station this morning around 6. Bomb Squad from Imphal were called in to diffuse the bomb. All the traffic movements in the area were closed following the discovery of the bomb. The spot where the bomb was discovered is just 300 metre away from the Hill Tribal Council office where a bomb exploded yesterday night. Reports said the bomb was safely removed by the bomb squad around 2 in the afternoon. Later it  was safely exploded near the Assam rifles camp at KLP on H. Monjang road about 4 km of Moreh police station.

IMPHAL 19 March 2016 :The principal office of KM Blooming higher secondary school in Khangabok was ransacked following death of a class 8 student of the school. A student of class 8 from Imphal East died at JNIMS yesterday. Sources say the guardians took the student home for a family function on march 6th and he returned back on march 14th. He complained of illness on March 16 after he appeared in the school examination. The school informed his guardians and was taken JNIMS yesterday in the morning.The student passed away around 4.30 yesterday afternoon. As the news of his death spread, angry people of his locality came to the school in two buses around 10.30 last night and ransacked the principal's office. They destroyed furniture, computers, television set and shelves inside the principal's room. Thoubal police led by additional SP N. Madhunimai rushed to the spot to control the situation. Founder chairman of KM Blooming school M. Menjor Mangang expressed shock over the death of the student.
