Imphal, 20 November 2016 ( Evening News ) : A non-local was killed today when a suspected IED exploded this morning at Singjamei Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai. The suspected IED exploded at a time when there is tight security in and around Imphal for the Sangai festival which is beginning tomorrow. The blast occurred at around 8:15 this morning opposite UCO bank, Singjamei Chingamathak Nameirakpam Leikai under Singjamei police station. Binod Rai Kumar, aged 28, from Muzafarpur District in Bihar, presently staying in a rented house at Chingamathak lost his life in the blast. He was working as a salesman at an iron shop in Chingamathak. He was in front of his shop when the suspected IED went off unexpectedly and died at the spot. A scooter parked nearby was damaged by the blast. After the blast OC of Singjamei Police Station, Ingocha, SP of Imphal West district and other heads of Manipur police inspected the blast site.
