Imphal, 20 August 2016 ( Evening News ) : Members of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, RMSA teachers association today held a meeting regarding their unpaid salaries at Thau Ground, Thangmeiband. 746 graduate teachers who were appointed under RMSA in 2011 and 2014 participated in the discussion on the problem facing them due to non payment of their salaries at the meeting. They were demanding immediate release of their due salaries for 7 months. Later they took out a protest rally towards the chief minister's bungalow to submit a memorandum on their demand. Speaking to media persons general secretary of the association M. Langam said 90% of the teachers are posted at far flung areas which do not have proper accommodation so they are staying at rented houses. He said the teachers are unable to pay their rent due to non payment of salaries. Langam also warned that if their demand are not met by the govt, they will apprise the HRD ministry in Delhi of their problems.
