Imphal, 09 August 2016 ( Evening News ) : Irom Chanu Sharmila has decided to open a new chapter in her life as she decided to end her 16-year old fast today. She was today produced in the court the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal west, Lamkhanpao Tonsing. Sharmila told the judge that she wanted to end her fast and appealed for her release. She signed a PR bond of Rs 10,000 for her release. The court is yet to issue the release order. After she came out of the court, Sharmila tried to speak to the media about the end of her fast and her decision to join politics and contest election. She told the media that she wants to be the chief minister of Manipur. However she got perturbed by the noises as the media persons asked her questions at the same time and refused to speak. She left the room in a huff. Sharmila sat on the step outside the court and once again tried to speak to the media persons. This time also she got disturbed by the persistent media persons who hurled questions at her and panned their cameras on her. Suspecting trouble the Police personnel escorted Sharmila to the ambulance and took her to JNIMS judicial custody.
