Imphal, 09 Saturday 2016 : Chief minister Okram Ibobi today spoke out against the politicisation of national food security act and development of roads by political parties in the state. Okram Ibobi insisted political parties need not politicise such issues. The chief minister was speaking at the felicitation of Congress candidates who were elected in the recent Imphal Municipal Corporation election at Congress Bhawan. Ibobi emphasised the role of the elected Corporators in the development of Imphal city. He said the state should not always wait for the funds from the centre for the development. He maintained that is always necessary to have a strong foundation from the grassroots, the local bodies to the assembly to ensure a stable govt. He also emphasised the role of the congress party and its workers to win people's confidence in both the valley and hills. Stating that people always welcome a better change, Ibobi accused the BJP govt in the centre of changing the names of many schemes launched by the UPA to their leaders names. He said the BJP govt has changed the UPA 's Look East Policy to Act East policy but it has failed to achieve in the last two years.
