Minister Ratankumar urges citizens not to impose ‘community based’ bandhs; appeals communities to live together in peace to bring normalcy in state

Imphal, 29 June 2016( Evening News) : Education and Transport Minister Kh. Ratankumar today urged all the communities based in the state not to impose ‘community based’ bandhs and appealed all the communities to live together in peace to bring normalcy in the state. Addressing media persons at his quarter in Babupara, Minister Ratankumar who is also MLA of Mayang Imphal A/C said tension flared up between two communities in the constituency starting April 7 which resulted in loss of lives and property. Ratankumar said regarding the frequent tension between two communities, he met leaders of both the communities yesterday and formed a joint body called Mayang Imphal Konchak Bengoon Apunba Lup (MIKBAL). He hoped that the organisation will bring people of both the communities closer. It may be recalled that two youths accused of stealing vehicles loss their lives after they were beaten by a mob on April 7.

On the other hand, MIKBAL Advisor Md. Jabbar said tension has been continuing between the two communities living in the constituency. He thanked and appreciated MLA Ratankumar for his effort to bring peace and normalcy in the constituency
