Imphal, 29 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh today said the state needs 1,350 mega watts of electricity for 24X7 power supply in Imphal and District head quarters. Chief Minister made the statement at the one-day ‘Electricity & Related Issues redressal in Manipur’ jointly organised by Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission for Manipur and Mizoram, Manipur State Power Company limited and Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited. The event was held at Hotel Classic Grande. Chief Minister said the electricity department aims to install pre-paid meters in 3.5 lakh households in Imphal and District Head Quarters within December this year. Till date the electricity has installed 2.2 lakh pre-paid meters. Okram Ibobi Singh said the department collected Rs 4 crore in 2013-14 while Rs 11 crore was collected in 2015-16. Experts showcased presentation on upcoming projects at the event.
