Imphal, 11 June 2016 ( Evening News ) : Chingmeirong Maning Leikai Shinglup under the aegis of Directorate of Family Welfare organised one day awareness program on ‘Law on Pre Conception and the Pre Natal Diagnose Test at Sinam Shyama Devi Town Hall today. The awareness program aimed at preventing pre-determination of gender during pregnancy and female foeticide. Speakers at the awareness program spoke on PC and PNDT Act 1994. Directorate of Family Welfare felicitated women who have maximum number of girl child and presented with cash awards. Director of Family Welfare, Dr K Rajo said programs are being launched at the grass roots in different places to raise awareness on the declining female sex ratio not only in Manipur but in whole India as per the 2011 census.
