Imphal, 01 May 2016 : The bandh along Singjamei to Lilong road has been relaxed for the students in view of the AIMPT exam and Meitei mayek examination and competition to be held tomorrow. JAC and the locals took the decision to relax bandh for the students appearing for the said examinations at a meeting held at Kakwa Nameirakpam Leikai Community Hall, but the bandh will remain in effect for others. The meeting also resolved to call for a Manipur bandh if the government do not release the post mortem report and take action against the culprits.

Earlier in the day, people blocked the road from Singjamei to Lilong on Imphal Moreh national highway in connection with the death. Members of the JAC placed logs on the road preventing people's movement. It may be recalled that Prasanta was found hanging from a tree on the morning of April 26 on the bank of the Imphal river near Teramakhong government primary School in Lilong Haoreibi Awang Leikai.
