The Group B match between Denmark and Finland resumed at 12 AM after a long suspension due to Eriksen's medical emergency.
Finland had a debut to remember as they defeated Denmark 1-0 with a score by Pohjanpalo at 60th minute, the first tournament goal for Fins.
Saturday's Euro 2020 match between Denmark and Finland at the Parken Stadium in Copenhagen was suspended after Denmark's Star Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch in the first half. Players signalled for medical team as Eriksen remained motionless and fans across the world undoubtedly remain upset. Match resumed at 12 AM (IST) following the request of players from both teams and after news of Eriksen being stabilised in hospital. Jansen replaced Eriksen.
Euro 2020 Wales vs Switzerland ended in 1-1 draw this evening. Breel Embolo opened the scoring for Switzerland by heading the ball in from a corner at the 49th minute. Kieffer Moore scored an equaliser for Wales with a short corner at the 74th minute.
Imphal, 29 June 2016 ( Evening News) : Olympic Day Run 2016 was observed in the state as held across the world. Manipur Olympic Association and Youth Affairs and Sports jointly organised the Run at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium. Many International, National and state players including Olympian, Coaches and representatives of different associations attended the event. As part of the event, Olympic bronze medallist boxer and Rajya Sabha MP Mary Kom honoured players and people who took major role in developing sports in the state. It was on June 23, 1894 that Pierre de Coubertin's dream became reality and the International Olympic Committee, IOC was born. The 42nd Session of the IOC held in 1948 in St Moritz, Switzerland, decided to celebrate Olympic Day on June 23 in commemoration of the anniversary of the IOC and the Olympic Movement. Accordingly, the first Olympic Day Run in modern Olympic history was celebrated by the IOC in the same year in association with 9 national Olympic committees. The countries were Austria, Belgium, Canada, Great Britain, Greece, Portugal, Uruguay, Venezuela and Switzerland. The day was first observed in Manipur on June 23, 1984.
Imphal, 11 April 2016 : Manipur's Maisnam Meiraba has won the under 15 boys single in the Yonex - BTY open 2016 held at Bangkok from April 6-10. The international badminton event is organised by badminton association of Thailand under the royal patronage. In the final Meiraba defeated Hafidz Dzakwan Putra of Indonesia 21-13, 21-8. However Meiraba lost in the quarters of the under 17 to Kulrawut Vithisan of Thailand 18-21, 8-21.
Imphal, 31 March 2016 : India retained their top position at the 4th International Strength Lifting and Incline Bench press held in Bangkok from March 24 to 28. Five gold and two bronze contributed by Manipuri players helped the team retain the title. Hosts Thailand bagged the runners up in the 8 country competition. Altogether 160 competitors competed in 3 weight categories in women’s and men’s group. Pushparani Devi in 72 Kgs and Bidyarani Devi in 46 Kgs bagged 2 gold each while M Gyanchan Luwang (62 Kgs) won one Gold. Bikramjit (60 Kgs) gave India 2 Bronze. Speaking to a team of Editors Guild, Manipur at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, Bangkok, leader of the Indian team, Babul Bikas Patronobis said India retained the top position for the 4th time in a row. He was also all praise for the host Thailand which successfully organized the championship.
IMPHAL : Manipur Police Sports Polo Club-A and X-Polo Club, Wangkhei, entered the semi-final of the 26th Governor’s Cup Invitational Polo Tournament. In the third quarter final match played today, Manipur Police Sports Polo Club-A beat Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club-Khongman 7-5. While in the fourth quarter final match, X-Polo Club, Wangkhei beat Manipur Police Sports Polo Club-C 7-5. 12 teams are taking part in the tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
IMPHAL: Manipuri Wushu players who participated in the recently concluded Kerala National Games were felicitated at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex. The Wushu team won 4 gold and 2 silver in the games. M Sadananda and L Sanatombi Chanu won a gold each in the Taijiquan event. Y Sapna won a gold medal in Changquan event and S Chaobi Devi won a gold medal in Nanquan event. While Punshiba Mayanglambam won silver in Nanquan event H Dewan won silver in Daoshu event. H Jaydev was the team manager for Sanshou and M Praphulo was the team manager for the Taolu. M. Sachidananda was the team coach for Taolu and Y Brojen was the team coach for the Sanshou.
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two Manipuri girls Ch Priya and Th Chaoba Devi won bronze medal in rowing on the 5th day of 35th National Games 2015 in Kerala. The Manipuri players won the bronze medal in the 500 metre Doubles Scull event. Manipur missed out medal in 500 metre rowing event as Th Chaoba came 5th. It was bad luck again for Manipur team in the women's 500m Coaxless Rowing final. The team of Sh Romila, A Radhapyari, Gienramphy and P Sushila came 6th. Manipur have won 4 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze.
