Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren today threw a Ningol Chaouba luncheon for women of 32 communities of Manipur at CM Bungalow in Imphal. He presented Ningol Chakouba gifts to them and sought their blessings on the joyous occasion. Speaking at the event, the chief minister expressed that his dream of celebrating Ningol Chakkouba Festival with womenfolk of different communities was realised.

Chief Minister N. Biren also today virtually inaugurated 29 Tribal museums constructed at 10 different districts of Manipur at a solemn function held at Chief Minister’s Secretariat. 31 tribal museums were constructed at the cost of Rs. 5 Crore, 60 Lakh under the aegis of Manipur State Archaeology, Department of Art & Culture with a vision to preserve and showcase the rich culture, tradition, art and crafts of various tribes of Manipur, Biren said on the occasion. Out of these, 6 museums were constructed at Chandel, 3 museums at Tengnoupal, 5 museums at Kangpokpi, 6 museums at Churachandpur, 4 museums at Senapati, 3 museums at Tamenglong, 1 museum each at Pherzawl, Ukhrul, Noney and Imphal East. The remaining 2 museums will be completed at the earliest, he added.

The museums which were inaugurated today are museums for Anal, Chothe, Lamkang, Monsang, Moyon, Tarao, Aimol, Maring, Mate, Chiru, Kharam,Koireng, Thadou, Purum, Gangte, Paite, Zou, Kom, Simte, Vaiphei, Thangal, Mao, Maram, Inpui, Zeme, Hmar, Tangkhul, Rongmei and Kabui tribes.

PHE Minister Losii Dikho, Education Minister S. Rajen, Deputy Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly K. Robindro, Chairman of Manipur Building and Others Construction Worker’s Board H. Dingo and others were present during the function.
