Chief Minister Okram Ibobi will claim formation of new Congress led government latest by tommorow
Imphal, 13 March 2017 ( Evening News ) : Chief Minister Okram Ibobi will claim formation of new Congress led government by tendering his resignation to the Governor latest by tommorow. Speaking at a press meet of elected congress candidates at the residence of Nambol Assembly Constituency MLA N Loken at Sangaiprou today, Ibobi further said the claims made by other parties of congress elected candidates joining other parties is false rumours. He further said no elected congress candidates are joining any other parties. He further clarified the media query regarding congress MLA Th. Shyamkumar joining BJP saying there is no such information received as yet and further said elected trinamool Congress Candidate Robindro is still with the Congress party. Ibobi further claims that he has shown written documents proving NPP MLAs in support of Congress party to the Governor and that the Governor has place the demand for the requirement of their physical presence. CM Ibobi also said as to whether the written document is fake or not will be the NPP Candidates will have first hand knowledge. However, Andro Assembly Constituency MLA Th Shyamkumar and Trinamool Congress ’s Elected candidate Robindro were absent at the press meet today.
MPCC President TN Haokip who was present at the Congress Press meet today, said Congress party is the single largest winning party in this 11th Manipur Assembly Election. He also said O Ibobi is elected as CLP leader and a letter of Understanding has been submitted to the Governor already. He further alleged BJP of trying to bring in dirty politics in the northeast states. He asserted its not a difficult task to make 31 legislative seats to form the new government by Congress party who has won 28 seats in the election.TN Haokip assured Congress party of forming a stable new government keeping in mind the Congress Manifesto announced before the election
People in Manipur celebrate Yaoshang festival with religious and traditional enthusiam
Imphal, 13 March 2017 (Evening News ) : People in Manipur celebrated Yaoshang festival with religious and traditional fervour and enthusiasm. The first day of the festival, was marked by the burning of “yaoshang in the evening. Young boys and girls in colourful traditional dress went from door to door asking for money - “Nakatheng.” Singing of devotional songs- Holi by devotees, applying of colours and Thabal chongba are the highlights of the festival.
People burnt Yaoshang in different parts of the valley in the evening. They also offered fruits and flowers to the lord before setting the hut on fire .
